The Kaiser Family Foundation has contracted NORC to conduct the 2008 Retiree Health Benefits Survey. This survey is designed to provide estimates of the proportion of large employers that offer retiree health benefits, costs incurred by both employers and retirees, and levels of offered coverage.

For the 2008 survey, NORC has developed a probability list sample stratified by size of organization and industry type and a Computer Assisted Telephone Interview (CATI) instrument. NORC is conducting telephone interviews with benefits representatives at 1,000 large organizations that may or may not offer retiree health benefits. Tables, a methodology report, and a data file also will be delivered.  All of the work is being conducted this summer.
