October 5, 2009 -- Several news organizations, including the Chicago Tribune have reported that the National Survey of Children's Health, which NORC conducts for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has shown a jump in the incidence of Autism -- from about one child in 150 in 2007 to one in 100 in 2008.
NORC conducts the study for the CDC as part of the State and Local Area Integrated Telephone Surveys (SLAITS). Details of the survey will be published later this year. Additional information about Autism is available on the CDC website.
