Under the new structure, four organizational groups, each headed by an Executive Vice President, will report to Thompson. These groups are:
Research Departments - Daniel S. Gaylin, currently Executive Vice President for Health Research, will oversee all of NORC’s research departments (except for Statistics and Methodology as discussed below) and business development activities as Executive Vice President for Research Programs. Gaylin also has been appointed Corporate Secretary (a position Thompson held previously) in an acting capacity until the Board of Trustees can hold an election.
Finance and Administration - James E. Dunne will continue to oversee all administrative departments. His title will change from Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer to Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer. He also will continue as the Treasurer for the organization.
Operations and Information Technology - Michele Koppelman, currently Senior Vice President for Public Health Research, will become Executive Vice President for Operations and Information Technology. She will oversee the Information Technology Group, Field Operations, and the Telephone Survey and Support Operations Centers. She also will continue to act as Director of the Public Health Research Department until a new Director is hired.
Survey Research - Kirk Wolter will become Executive Vice President for Survey Research. Wolter will provide leadership for NORC’s Senior Fellows focused on survey methodology, oversee the Statistics and Methodology Department, and continue to direct the Center for Excellence in Survey Research. He also will continue as a Senior Fellow.
