Massachusetts Sees Coverage Increase after 2006 Health Reform

NORC Senior Fellow Jon Gabel was interviewed for a story that appeared in the July 24, 2009 edition of the Wall Street Journal (page A4).  The story noted that Massachusetts, which enacted universal health care reform in 2006, has seen its coverage rate increase from 88 percent in 2007 to 92 percent in 2008. The Massachusetts Plan, as it is called, requires employers with 11 or more employees to provide coverage or pay a penalty of $295 per employee per year.  Learn more about the Massachusetts Plan here.
