Family Health Premiums Rise to $13,375

September 15, 2009 -- The Employer Health Benefit 2009 Annual Survey, released today by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET), finds that premiums for family coverage increased by 5 percent over one year ago to an annual cost of $13,375.

NORC Senior Fellow Jon Gabel, the study's lead author, noted that premiums have increased by more than 131 percent since 1999 and by far more than worker wages or inflation during the same period.

Selected findings were also published today as a Web Exclusive in the journal Health Affairs.
