Agricultural Economics

Current research into the economics of agriculture touches on a diverse set of topic areas: from the management and financial performance of farms and agribusinesses to the effects of public policy on resource use, technology adoption, and labor trends in the agricultural economy. Researchers within the Data Enclave are using the Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS) to examine the multiple issues faced by farmers, agribusiness and rural communities in our increasingly global agricultural economy. Many Enclave researchers use ARMS data to ask how small- and large-scale farmers make decisions with regard to production and management, especially in light of frequent changes in consumer demand, agricultural technology and government policy.
