Background
Jenny has over 20 years experience in survey research, the first nine of which were with the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), followed by eight years with ACNielsen Australia, before joining NORC in 2001. She has also lectured in Market Research for the Masters program at the University of Sydney, and was President of the NSW Branch of the Statistical Society of Australia.
Although she has held several research positions (including Director of Statistical Consultancy of the NSW office of the ABS, and Director of Social and Government Research at ACNielsen Australia), Jenny's interest in Operations was to improve the efficiency and quality of data collection by the application of statistical and research methods.
Most recently, she has been closely involved in the design and implementation of hybrid dialing. This technology, pioneered by NORC, delivers many of the cost advantages of predictive dialing on RDD studies, while still preserving the quality advantages of preview dialing on cases where review by the interviewer is needed prior to contact.
