Background
Cagney directs NORC's Population Research Center, which facilitates population research by economists, sociologists, psychologists, public policy scientists, and scientists in other disciplines such as social services administration and medicine. She also is associate director of NORC's Center on Aging.
Her special research interests include neighborhood effects and health, race and ethnic differences in access to health care and long-term care, life course approaches to research in health, and health status assessment.
Cagney also is an Associate Professor of Health Services Research at the University of Chicago in its Departments of Health Studies, Comparative Human Development, and Sociology.
